One of the Jewels in the US is the Valley Isle of Maui in Hawaii. So called due to the beautiful valleys that exist between the Islands 2 volcanoes. With a mild and uniform temperature the climate is never cold and seldom too hot to be unpleasant.
On the South Western part of the island south of Kihei some master developers were taken by the wonderful golden sandy beaches and planned and built the Wailea Makena Resort. There one finds luxury hotels such as The Grand Wailea, The Four Seasons Resort and Spa, luxury beachfront condos and exclusive restaurants. The Shops at Wailea shopping mall and five exclusive golf courses. All in all Wailea is one of the most desirable places to live in Maui.
Wailea and indeed all Maui is a wonderful place for outdoor sports activities. Swimming, snorkeling and skin diving is possible off prestine golden sand beaches. If one wishes to go scuba diving there are nearby diving shops for hire and refilling of tanks and boats to take one to the ideal dive spots.
The Beaches are joined by an easy oceanfront board walk and stretches for over a mile, just to the south there is another beach at Makena which is a state park locally know as Big Beach. In winter whales can often be seen just off shore along these beaches.
There are good roads and trails in the area so hiking and mountain biking are also good things to do.
Living in South Maui is idyllic with almost no reason to be bored ever. The beautiful sea views and the wonderful weather make it an all round paradise for those who wish to live in a perpetually warm and friendly place.
And of course there is always golf. Wailea has three courses ranging from a forgiving, easier course and another being far more challenging. Makena also has two golf courses which allows one a series of games and over time one need never get too familiar with only one golf course.
